One way to potentially create a lot of traffic to your site is with the use of viral traffic referral websites. The way these usually work is that you sign up under someone who referred you and then view their and other sites in the downline.

You then get a referral url to send traffic to and begin building a downline and traffic. The idea is that once you get enough people signed up they will refer others too and soon there will be thousands who view your website.

So will this kind of traffic work for your site? It definitely can depending on what kind of website you have. Basically this works best with lead generation pages. You probably won't have much luck using direct sales sites.
