The Law of Attraction.
How is the necessary material secured by which the growth,
development and maturity of the idea take form?
The law of love, which is the creative principle of the
Universe, imparts vitality to the thought, and the law of
attraction brings the necessary substance by the law of growth.
How are desirable conditions secured?
By entertaining desirable thoughts only.
How are undesirable conditions brought about?
By thinking, discussing and visualizing conditions of lack,
limitation, disease, inharmony and discord of every kind. This
mental photography of erroneous conceptions is taken up by the
subconscious and the law of attraction will inevitable
crystallize it into objective form. That we reap what we sow is
scientifically exact.
How can we overcome every kind of fear, lack, limitation,
poverty and discord?
By substituting principle for error.
How may we recognize principle?
By a conscious realization of the fact that Truth invariably
destroys error. We do not have to laboriously shovel the
darkness out; all that is necessary is to turn on the light. The
same principle applies to every form of negative thought.
What is the value of Insight?
It enables us to understand the value of making application of
the knowledge which we gain. Many seem to think that knowledge
will automatically apply itself, which is by no means true.

Physical science is responsible for the marvelous age of
invention in which we are now living, but spiritual science is

Brand + Story
My dad was one of the wisest, most compassionate and giving men I've ever known. Although not a man of great means, he endowed many lives with his encouragement, strength and hope. But then, Dad didn't preach, he just did.
One chilly fall evening in the late 1950's, Dad drove my visiting uncle across the Hudson River to the train station in Albany, NY for his return home. I didn't go with them because I was busy getting my diaper changed. As Dad said goodbye to my uncle, a bum approached him (yes, that's what panhandling, homeless men were called back then). The man was disheveled, with stubble beard and an ill fitting, dirty overcoat.
"Can you spare some change, bud?"
Dad didn't need his PhD in organic chemistry to determine from the man's odor what that change would be purchasing.
"No," he responded, "I won't give you any money, but I'll gladly buy you a sandwich and coffee."
As the two men sat in the snack bar nearby and talked, Dad asked, "So, do you have any family?"
"Yea, I got a brother in Boston."
"Really, tell me about him."
"He's a priest. So what?"
"A priest, what church is he with and what's his name?"
After paying the bill and bidding the man farewell, Dad returned home armed with answers to those and a few more questions.
He then looked up the church in Boston and called long distance.back when "long distance calling" took more than small pocket change.
Dad gave the priest all the information he could about his brother.
A couple weeks later, Dad received a heartfelt, grateful letter from the man's sister thanking him for his saintly intervention. "Because of what you did," the letter said, "we have been reconnected with our brother from whom we had not heard in a long time. Thank you."
I have no idea what happened after that, but because Dad gave without expecting any repayment, one family had a real chance to heal.
My uncle who got the ride to the train station shared this story with me a few years back. But when I asked Dad about it he responded, "Kevin, I don't recall it."
Dad just gave expecting nothing in return. Because that's just who he was. He taught me again; in hindsight, that true giving is not a transaction. But, if given freely, one receives in return riches that money cannot buy.
Dad is no longer here in body. But in spirit, yes. When I reflect on this lesson occasionally, I look up and whisper, "Dad, I hope I can remember now."

Brand + Death
The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."
As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?".
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.

definite cause. You will be enabled to formulate your plans in
accordance with exact knowledge. You will know how to control
any situation by bringing adequate causes into play. When you

The ordinary man, who has no definite knowledge of cause and
effect, is governed by his feelings or emotions.
He thinks chiefly to justify his action. If he fails as a
businessman, he says that luck is against him. If he dislikes
music, he says that music is an expensive luxury. If he is a
poor office man, he says that he could succeed better at some
outdoor work. If he lacks friends, he says his individuality is
too fine to be appreciated.
He never thinks his problem through to the end. In short, he
does not know that every effect is the result of a certain
definite cause, but he seeks to console himself with
explanations and excuses. He thinks only in self-defence.
On the contrary, the man who understands that there is no effect
without an adequate cause thinks impersonally. He gets down to
bedrock facts regardless of consequences. He is free to follow
the trail of truth wherever it may lead. He sees the issue clear
to the end, and he meets the requirements fully and fairly, and
the result is that the world gives him all that it has to give,
in friendship, honor, love and approval.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been.
The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand - "Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition."

A Chinese farmer has made his own solar-powered water heater out of beer bottles and hosepipes.
“I invented this for my mother. I wanted her to shower comfortably,” says Ma Yanjun, of Qiqiao village, Shaanxi province.
Ma’s invention features 66 beer bottles attached to a board. The bottles are connected to each other so that water flows through them.
Sunlight heats the water as is passes slowly through the bottles before flowing into the bathroom as hot water, reports China Economy Network.
Ma says it provides enough hot water for all three members of his family to have a shower every day.
And more than 10 families in the village have already followed suit and installed their own versions of Ma’s invention.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.
"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. "35¢!" she brusquely replied.
The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left.

Brand + Rain
A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab.
She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home.
A special note was attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others."

Brand + Dorothy
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello."
I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.
